As 2009 draws to a close, howzabout we look back at all the AWESOMENESS this community has given us?!
It's hard to believe we've been around a scant eight months... but we certainly have some GQMF posts to prove it! And you get to decide which are the most GQ of all! Nominations will be open until
noon EST on December 31 30 (I fail at calendar, apparently), giving you a little under 48 hours to track down that awesome post you remember from June or whatever. The final poll will hopefully be live by midnight on the 30 (unless, as I suspect, there wind up being like a billion categories, in which case it might take me a bit longer -- will keep you posted).
Here's how it'll work:
- Top-level comments are categories (i.e., "Best Walking Post," "Best 'Look At This GQMF' Macro," "Best ONTD_ST Post of 2009," etc.). Post your nominations as replies to that comment. INCLUDE A LINK to the post/image in question. Posts without links (i.e., "that post about that thing that time") won't make it into the final poll. If you want to enlist your fellow GQMFs to try to help you find the post you're thinking of, feel free, but if no one digs up a direct link by the time nominations close, it won't make it into the poll. For macro/image categories, you can embed the macro/image in the comment or link to it.
- If you are nominating a post in a category, please post it as a reply to the appropriate comment, NOT as a new top-level comment. This'll help me keep things organized for the poll. If you post your nomination in the wrong place, it won't make it into the final poll, sorry!
- Please post only ONE nomination per comment. You can nominate as many posts as you like, but please do them in separate comments.
- Since some of these categories are likely to have a LOT of nominations, we'll do a first round of voting in this nomination post to narrow it down somewhat. The top-voted 10 or so* in each category will make it into the final poll, so be sure to indicate your support for nominations by replying with something affirmative ("Seconded," "I nominate this too," "FUCK YEAH THIS ONE ROCKS," etc.).
*reserving the right to include more or less depending on voting; say, if there are a clear half-dozen in one category that are getting all the votes, we might just go with those, whereas if another category has like 20 getting lots of votes, fuck yeah we'll include 'em- I've started us off with a few categories. These are not meant to be exclusive -- that is, you can create more categories AND posts can be nominated in more than one category. If you create a new category, please post it as a new top-level comment and put the category name in the Subject line of your comment. We can have plenty of categories, but let's not get TOO specific; 'best ZQ-centric post' is fine, but 'best ZQ macro where he's making out with someone and CPine's face is photoshopped on and then they go dancing' is perhaps a bit too restrictive ;)
- FYI, I just came up with this idea earlier today, so if there's anything I've missed, let me know and I'll, er, think up something to cover it ;) This is NOT srs bzns, so have fun!! :D
